Carter Faith’s Cherry Valley: A Debut Album That Feels Like Home

By Jesi Star

There’s something timeless and tender about Carter Faith’s voice — like a dusty melody drifting through the Blue Ridge Mountains and landing softly in the neon glow of a Nashville dive bar. And now, after years of pouring her soul into the craft, the North Carolina native and rising country star is finally ready to share her full story. Her highly anticipated debut album Cherry Valley drops October 3 via MCA, and it promises to be more than just a collection of songs — it’s an emotional landmark, a sonic memoir, and an intimate invitation into Carter’s world.

Cherry Valley means everything to me,” Carter says of the project. “It’s been my lifeline, my therapy, and a place to return to when things got heavy.” That sentiment echoes through every lyric and melody on the 15-track album — a carefully woven journey from heartbreak to healing, told with smoky vocals, old soul honesty, and a flair that’s uniquely Carter Faith.

Fans got their first taste of the record with singles like “Grudge” and the dreamy, confessional “If I Had Never Lost My Mind…,” but this week Carter dropped perhaps her boldest track yet: “Sex, Drugs and Country Music.” It’s a modern outlaw anthem that feels both rebellious and raw — capturing the contradictions of chasing dreams, dancing with demons, and doing it all with a six-string slung over your shoulder.

Crafted alongside longtime producer Tofer Brown, Cherry Valley took two years to build — from Carter’s early songwriting sessions to finally recording in 2024. Along the way, she racked up Opry performances, toured with legends like Willie Nelson, and earned hundreds of millions of streams. But despite the spotlight, Carter kept her boots on the ground and her heart in the music.

The album itself is named after a real road sign Carter once saw — Cherry Valley — which became symbolic of her creative sanctuary. It’s where classic influences like Tammy Wynette and The Beatles meet Carter’s modern country perspective. Think storytelling with edge. Grit with grace.

Tracks like “Bar Star” and “Burn My Memory” deliver fierce female perspective with a wink of vintage glam, while “Still A Lover” and “Sails” reveal her most vulnerable shades. It’s clear that this isn’t just an album — it’s an evolution.

Following her standout set at Stagecoach and a run with Carly Pearce, Carter is back on the road this summer with Little Big Town, making stops coast to coast — from Wyoming and Texas to California and New York. Each show is another chapter in her ever-growing legend.

With Cherry Valley, Carter Faith doesn’t just debut — she arrives. Fully formed, deeply felt, and ready to claim her place as one of country music’s most compelling voices.

Editor’s Note: You can catch Carter Faith on tour now and pre-save Cherry Valley ahead of its October 3 release. This album belongs in the hands of anyone who’s ever loved, lost, or found themselves somewhere between a backroad and a broken heart.
